About Me

Developer, builder, and lifelong learner focused on Astro, WordPress, and AI workflows

Welcome to my corner of the internet. I spend most of my time building with Astro, modernizing heavy WordPress sites, and experimenting with tools that make the day-to-day workflow better.

My journey in tech started years ago with a simple curiosity about how websites work. That curiosity turned into a habit of taking real projects apart, rebuilding them more cleanly, and sharing what actually worked.

When I'm not coding, I’m usually helping charities and non-profits improve their digital presence. I also help look after my disabled daughter after a car accident in 2007, which has shaped how I think about time, priorities, and giving back.

This blog is where I document what I’m learning about Astro, WordPress migration, AI-assisted coding, and the odd experiment that turns into something useful. It still mixes in the personal side of life, caregiving, and the reality of trying to balance everything.

What I'm currently working on:

  • Building hybrid websites with Astro, WordPress, and TypeScript
  • Exploring WordPress-to-Astro migration and AI workflows
  • Comparing Claude, Codex, Fireworks, Kimi, and MiniMax
  • Trying Valet, Zed, Ghostty, opencode, and local models
