About Me
Developer, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner sharing the journey
Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm a passionate developer who believes in the power of technology to solve real-world problems and create meaningful experiences.
My journey in tech started years ago with a simple curiosity about how websites work. That curiosity has evolved into a deep passion for building scalable applications, exploring new technologies, and sharing knowledge with the community. I worked with the early adoption of CRM to the major utility companies in the UK, to the launch of major travel sites booking platforms.
When I'm not coding, you'll find me helping charities and non-profits - where I help them establish their digital presence. I help look after my disabled daughter as a result of a car accident in 2007. After the rocky road we have been through these past 15 years we have come to realise helping others by giving back is a great leveller.
This blog is where I document my learnings, share code snippets that have helped me, and reflect on both the technical and personal aspects of being a developer in today's rapidly evolving landscape. I also shout liberally about the Court of Protection, Carers and Care Agencies. I will also spout forth how the CQC and Local Authority are strangling the will and ability of people just wanting to care. So a real mixed bag of topics!
What I'm currently working on:
- Building modern web applications with AstroJS, WordPress and TypeScript
- Exploring headless WordPress and AI
- Contributing to open source projects
- Looking into DataScience and AI with Python for Climate Data
